A percentage of my income that goes to a category
I get paid bi-weekly and I feel like a feature that allows you automatically allocate a chunk (percentage) of that to a particular category would be helpful. What I'm hoping for is a percentage of each income, but a monthly option would also be nice.

It would be nice if i could say what could be visible on the side navigation (computer), and what was visible in the bottom nav (phone, ipad). Like i could toggle a switch and i couldn’t see the Net Worth or Reports or anything we don’t use

It appears as though payments made in the goal module are not reflected in the transaction record. To ensure that payments are not double entered it would be good to have the same payment shown simultaneously in both goal and transaction sections.

Spilt Between Goals
It would be awesome if i could split income amounts between 2 goals or between income and a goal. For example: I received $150, I can split it. I click split and choose $140 to income and $10 to my Car savings. Or do $100 to Car Savings and $10 to House Savings. I know you have a similar feature but i can only spilt that between categories and income, not goals.

Balance Accounts & Transfers
I'd love to see support for multiple balance accounts. This is one feature that would likely convince me to continue using Waypoint long-term and upgrade to a paid plan. Balance Accounts I'd like to be able to create balance accounts (or "buckets") such as: Cash Cash App Chase Checking SoFi Savings Each account would have its own balance, and I could manually add or remove money from it. When recording a transaction, I could simply choose which account the money is coming from or going to, and the balance would update automatically. Account Types When creating an account, it would be helpful to choose an account type, such as: Checking Savings Investment Cash This would open the door to additional features. For example, if I have a Savings account, I could create a transaction and automatically send a percentage (such as 10%) into that savings account. A dedicated Transfer transaction type would also be useful for moving money between accounts. Bank Connections I know this adds complexity with bank syncing, but one possible approach would be allowing a balance account to optionally link to a connected bank account (for example, Chase or SoFi). If linked, the account's balance and transactions could sync automatically. If not linked, it would simply function as a manual account. Home Screen It would also be great to display a Total Balance on the home screen that adds together the balances of selected accounts. To make this flexible, each account could have a toggle such as "Include in Total Balance." That way users could exclude accounts they don't want counted, such as investment accounts or certain savings goals. One Thought I realize this overlaps somewhat with the current Allocations feature. Personally, I think balance accounts would be more intuitive and provide a stronger foundation for future features. If the two concepts overlap too much, I'd even consider replacing Allocations with this system, though that's ultimately up to your vision for the app. Thanks for taking the time to read this! I'd love to hear your thoughts, and I'm happy to answer any questions or provide more details if it would help.

Support Kids' Financial Literacy
Possible implementation - via household aharing, and likely with a low $ entry point, allow each kid to set up a limited number of personal categories and one or two goals. This structure would allow kids to learn the basics of budgeting and saving with reasonable visibility for the parents to assist and monitor/teach progress. All the basic elements are already in the app just need some constraints to be applied relative to their use case.

Goals: Support Future-Dated Debt Repayment Start Dates
Many financial obligations exist before repayments actually begin, but Waypoint currently treats debt goals as either “active” or “not tracked.” Examples include: Home Buyers’ Plan (HBP) repayment grace periods Student loans during grace periods Deferred loan repayments Mortgage payment deferrals Other obligations with scheduled future repayment dates For example, HBP withdrawals made between 2022 and 2028 benefit from a five-year repayment grace period. The debt exists today and should be visible within a financial plan, but repayments are not yet required. Currently, users must either: Add the debt as a goal and see no progress or inaccurate projections, or Exclude it entirely and lose visibility of the future obligation. A potential solution would be adding a “Repayments Start Date” field for debt payoff goals. Until that date: The balance remains visible. The debt contributes to a complete financial picture. Progress calculations and payoff projections begin only when repayment starts. This could also improve mortgage tracking, particularly when future payment changes occur after renewal or refinancing. The benefit extends beyond HBP users and would support anyone managing debts or obligations that exist today but become active at a future date.

Re-Categorize Pop-up Blocker?
I love that your program is smart and automatically wants to categorize my transactions, but I wish there was a way to turn off the pop-up window every time I categorize something. I have already categorized my transactions and don’t need others being automatically re-categorized. I have to close out of the pop-up with every transaction that I categorize. I realize this is helpful for some people, but for others like me, it becomes one more step I wish I didn’t have to keep taking. Thank you!

Cover overspending by shifting allocated money
Similar to the feature you added to allow you to allocate money to an unbudgeted category from the Home Screen it would be great if there was an option to make it easier to shift money allocated from one category to another in the case of overspending or in general. For example, my subscriptions category just went into over spending $8.60 and unless I’m missing something I need to go back to the budget section to remove $8.60 from another category doing the math to figure out what that is since I can’t just say remove this amount and then I need to go to the subscriptions category and add 8.60 to that amount. It would be much easier if I could just say I want tocover this budget short fall by moving available money from and select another category.

Needs vs Wants
Add a permanent attribute to each budget item to denote whether an expense could be considered a need or a want. A phase 1 virtualization would let people see in real dollar terms (and %) whether their spend is on necessities or wishes. This might assidt with improving spending and budget management. A future enhancement could offer a simulation engine to adjust needs vs wants to see how money could be adjusted to free up funds, meet goals or reduce budget shortfalls while still meeting needs.
