Allow for nested groups of categories to exist under a higher level group(s). Example might be Household with a collection of utility categories, home maintenance categories, tax / license categories, etc.
Thanks for the suggestion! We've thought about this one and we're going to pass for now. We intentionally keep the structure to two levels (groups and categories) because every extra layer makes budgeting screens, reports, and category pickers harder to scan, especially on mobile.
For your example, a "Household" group containing utilities, maintenance, and tax categories works today. If you want finer buckets, sibling groups like "Home: Utilities" and "Home: Maintenance" get you the same organization without the nesting. If a lot of people end up needing more depth we'll revisit.
