Say I have a transaction from a big blue box store that I bought both groceries and household items. Applying either Groceries or Shopping would skew the budget for either.
I could create a manual transaction for the correct amount of part of the actual transaction, apply the category, revised the date, and save it. Then edit the imported transaction amount, and apply the other category.
Or, Waypoint lets me split the transaction. Perhaps displaying both proposed transactions, allowing the names to be changed, categories to be applied. Then also showing either a slider for the amount to be split between the two new transactions, or an amount field for both with the corresponding result shown when a value is entered in one.
