Re-Categorize Pop-up Blocker?

I love that your program is smart and automatically wants to categorize my transactions, but I wish there was a way to turn off the pop-up window every time I categorize something. I have already categorized my transactions and don’t need others being automatically re-categorized. I have to close out of the pop-up with every transaction that I categorize. I realize this is helpful for some people, but for others like me, it becomes one more step I wish I didn’t have to keep taking. Thank you!

    Thanks for the great feedback, this was a fair point. Just shipped an update that addresses it on two fronts:

    1. The prompt now only shows up when there are 3 or more similar transactions to update. One-off recategorizations no longer trigger anything, so the constant pop-up should go away for the typical clean-up flow.

    2. When it does show up, it's now a small non-blocking toast message at the bottom right of the screen with a "Review" button - it auto-dismisses in a few seconds if you ignore it. No more annoying clicking out of a modal every time. If you want to backfill similar transactions, tap Review; if not, just keep working :)


    The pattern is still learned in the background either way, so future imports stay smart.

      Jamal, This is great but I sometimes find this timer too fast … (especially when I don’t expect it to popup). If don’t click on it too soon, il will make changes to ‘’similar” transactions but I don’t always this change. Can we make this timer

      Slower and a little bit bigger? I might be the slow dude in the whole class here … 🤪.

        Haha, you're not slow, the design was. That little bar filling up made it look like a countdown to something happening which isn’t really correct.

        When that popup disappears on its own, nothing changes. Your existing transactions only get updated if you tap Review and then Apply.

        What you're probably noticing is a different thing. When you change a transaction's category, Waypoint learns a rule for that merchant so new transactions from it get sorted the same way going forward. That happens whether or not you touch the popup. You can see and delete any of those rules under Profile Settings > Categorization Rules.

        And since you asked, in the next update the popup loses the countdown bar and sticks around for 10 seconds instead of 6 for the slower class out there ;)!
