Monthly Budget Progress Tracking

You already have a Planned budget amount for each category for a given month, add Actual (the amount currently spent) and Remaining (the amount unspent so far). This would make managing the budget more meaningfull. You could also make it easy to move money from one category to another to balance under and over categories that month.
