Cover overspending by shifting allocated money
Similar to the feature you added to allow you to allocate money to an unbudgeted category from the Home Screen it would be great if there was an option to make it easier to shift money allocated from one category to another in the case of overspending or in general.
For example, my subscriptions category just went into over spending $8.60 and unless I’m missing something I need to go back to the budget section to remove $8.60 from another category doing the math to figure out what that is since I can’t just say remove this amount and then I need to go to the subscriptions category and add 8.60 to that amount. It would be much easier if I could just say I want tocover this budget short fall by moving available money from and select another category.

Thanks for the detailed write-up. This was super easy to follow.
A quick model nuance that might reframe this: Waypoint Budget isn't tracking a strict envelope balance, so going $8.60 over on Subscriptions isn't a deficit you "owe." It's a signal that the target was off for the month. The category just resets clean next cycle, and nothing strictly needs to be "covered."
That said, the shortcut you're describing (adjust two targets in one step instead of editing each one) is fair. Especially now that we support month-to-month budgets, we could see this as a "move allocation between categories for this month" action, rather than moving money that's already been spent.
We're going to keep this In Review for now. It's a bit of an intermediate-user feature and we're protective about not over-complicating the budget screen, so we want to see if more folks vote it up before we build it. If this resonates with others on the board, that's our signal to prioritize.
In the meantime: you can edit the target on each category directly from the budget page. Not as elegant as a one-shot action, but gets you there.

Following up on this one with a decision. We're going to close it, and I want to be straight about why rather than leave it sitting in review.
Moving money between categories is the core mechanic of envelope-style apps like YNAB, and it's a direction we've deliberately chosen not to take Waypoint Budget. In our model, going $8.60 over on Subscriptions isn't a shortfall you need to cover. It's a signal your target for that category was a bit low this month, and the cleanest fix is adjusting the target itself if it keeps happening. Adding a "move money to cover it" flow would pull the whole app toward tracking envelope balances, which is exactly the complexity we're trying to keep out.
That said, your underlying point about friction is fair. Having to do the math yourself and edit two categories in two places is clunky, and making target adjustments quicker from the overspent category is something we can improve without changing the model. I've noted that separately.
