Category History

The category history does not show the usual spend if there haven’t been 6 consecutive months of payments. It would be useful if it did, if there are at least 2 payments made for categories that are infrequent but whose budget is still needed based on average spend, such as auto maintenance.

Thanks for this one. Category history now gives a real monthly figure for categories you only spend on now and then, like auto maintenance. As long as you’ve spent in the category in two different months over the last six full months, the average counts every month, quiet ones as $0. So $600 for brakes in July and $300 for tires in September reads as $150 a month, which is about what to set aside. Tap Average to use it as your budget, or switch to 1 year to see a longer stretch. Marking this as done, but let us know if anything looks off!

That works perfect, thank you! Couple notes

      1. It remembers what date range I selected on the graph page which is great but can it also use that to update the average it shows on the edit budget page before you click into the category history? That defaults to 6 mths.

      2. If I click on the bar on thr graph it shows what was spent for that month. Can the option be added to then click that amount to show the transactions for that month?

        Morning @OptoGuy117,

Both done. The range you pick in the chart now sticks for that category, and the average on the edit page reads the same range, so Auto Maintenance on 1 year stays on 1 year without changing your other categories. And tapping a month in the chart now lists that month’s transactions right there under the figures, biggest first, so you don’t have to leave the budget you’re editing.
