Feature Request

Is there a way for the calendar to update when a payment transaction has gone through? for instance, car payment due Aug 4th. Once that transaction has been entered, since it updates the budget - it should also “grey” out the calendar transaction? Only because I am a hyper visual person (which I am LOVING that you have the calendar feature integrated BTW) it would be nice to see it updated.

    Good news Jody, this should be live too now! Open your calendar and you'll see it in action.

    Here's how it works: when a payment comes through that matches one of your scheduled expenses (same category, close to the due date, roughly the expected amount), the calendar item fades out with a check mark so you can see at a glance what's already gone through. Hovering or tapping a day shows the details, including what paid it and when. Anything past due with no matching payment gets a small flag instead, so nothing quietly slips by.


    One tip to get the most out of it: it matches around the payment day you've set on each budget item, so if a bill's day has drifted (say your streaming service actually charges on the 28th but the budget item says the 3rd), updating the payment day on the Budget page will make the check marks line up perfectly.

    Thanks again for this one. You described exactly what a "hyper visual person" needed and it made the calendar better for everyone. Keep them coming!

      I am really enjoying the calendar updates. One thing I have noticed is if I have more than one payment on a specific date - if the first item is paid, it will show the green checkmark but unless I roll over that date and see other payments, I won’t see those other payments haven’t yet been cleared. Is there a way for that date to stand out if we are past the due date and the payment hasn’t gone through? An example would be my August 14th date on my calendar. I do use the upcoming bills section in the dashboard however, it doesn’t capture everything even if it is on the calendar

        Thanks again Jody, this was a genuinely useful report. Three things came out of it.

        The date now stands out. Anything past due with no matching payment sorts to the top of its day, so it can never hide behind "+2 more", and the date number itself turns amber until it clears.

        Your August 14th turned out to be a real bug, and your comment is what surfaced it. The repeating Bronco payment you set up was being saved in a way that hid it from your family budget, which is why the calendar kept insisting nothing had matched. That's fixed on your account already, so your August 14th should now show all five payments cleared next time you open the calendar.

        And the Upcoming Bills section was only ever showing monthly bills, so your bi-weekly vehicle payments never appeared there. It now covers every payment schedule.

        Thanks again for naming the exact date, it made all of this so easy to track down.
