Back date recurring manually added transactions

I am just starting out and wanted to upload and create my historical data for the last 2 years. I see I can add transactions manually but cannot back date the recurrence. This means I have to manually add manual transactions for every month. As this is frustrating, could you simply add a feature to say start date to be in the past and automatically create transactions from that day?
